Family and Children’s Services of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville (FCSLLG) is the child protection agency, a non-profit organization that serves children and families in the counties of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville and surrounding areas.
Family and Children’s Services of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville (FCSLLG) is looking for volunteer board members preferably with experience in in law, risk management, quality assurance and change management to serve in the interim until the next Annual General Meeting in September 2016. At that time, a request could be made for a one to three year term. The by-laws and board policies and procedures are provided on this webpage for your reference.
In order to serve as a board director, you must become a member of the corporation. Membership criteria are identified in Section 2.1 of the by-laws. Section 5 of the by-laws identifies important information related to board of director composition, election and other areas of interest.
FCSLLG is a governance board that provides strategic direction and oversight of the organization’s operations. For more information on the responsibilities of board members please refer to the Board’s policies and procedures in particular Appendix A – Terms of Reference for Board of Directors of FCSLLG and Appendix D – FCSLLG Director Terms of Reference.
Board meetings are scheduled monthly from September to June, with no regularly scheduled meeting in July, August and December. Each board member is required to sit on one of the four board committees: Governance, Finance and Audit, Human Resources and Service and Quality Oversight. The terms of reference for these committees can be found in the policies and procedures, Appendices F, G, H and I.
Time commitment required to sit on the board of directors is approximately five hours per month which includes review of documents prior to the board meeting, attendance at the board meeting and participation in a committee meeting. Board meetings occur through weblink technology from our Perth and Brockville offices. As a board member, you can attend either office. Committee meetings occur in Agency offices, via telephone and weblink technology.
